Sarvam Movie Review

Director Vishnu Vardhan after his brilliant “Billa” was expected to deliver another intresting and a racy entertainer in Ayangran International’s “Sarvam” but in the end one feels totally let down by Vishnu in all aspects. Sarvam which was widely publicized as a thriller turns out to be a damp squib. The director has handled a wafer thin-plot in a very poor way and the major saving grace for the movie is the brilliant cinematography by Nirav Shah and the songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Arya after his commercially disastrous “Naan Kadavul” has done nothing new in this movie.

The Movie begins with Karthik (Arya) getting introduced with beautiful models in a song which in no way is connected to the plot of the movie. We also get introduced to Eshwar (J D Chakravarthy) as a mentally disturbed man who had lost his wife and son in an accident and his main aim is to take revenge on Naushad (Indrajith) and his son Iman (Rohan).

As we get a feel about the characters of the movie, the movie shifts to a romantic mode with an introduction of the gorgeous pediatric doctor Sandhya (Trisha). Karthik bumps into Sandhya and without any hesitation falls in love with her. Karthik then follows Sandhya to win her heart over. Sandhya refuses in the beginning but after some time she also falls in love with him.

Karthik who has an emotional attachment towards Iman by a twist in the story takes on the responsibility of safeguarding him from Eshwar who wants to settle scores with Naushad by killing Iman.

A cat and mouse game then runs between Karthik and Eashwar and almost every time Karthik gets to save Iman in the nick of time. Whether Eshwar gets to be successful or Karthik gets the upper hand amongst the two is told in the rest of movie.

The romantic sequences between the lead-pair has been scripted well and the locales where the songs have been picturised are captured brilliantly by cinematographer Nirav Shah. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is commendable and a special mention for the songs which is already a hit amongst the masses. The major drawback amongst the star technical performers is the weak story which has been supported by a poor screenplay for which Vishnu Vardhan is to be held responsible.

Trisha after a long time looks very active and beautiful on screen and she has performed her role to perfection and special appreciation to her for the same. Arya as told earlier has done nothing new in the movie as his characterization is also a ordinary one. J D Chakravarthy as the disturbed man has done a commendable job and special mention to Master Rohan for his natural acting.

“Sarvam” on the whole disappoints badly and is definitely not worth the money and time.
