Operation Endgame Movie Review
“Operation Endgame” which is supposedly to be a thrilling movie about a group of secret agents working from an undisclosed underground facility actually turns out to be a dud considering the amount of meaningless violence that takes place. The movie is all about two groups of spies working for government agencies and when one group makes a new recruit to their team and in his first day at office things go haywire when their boss gets killed and the entire team has less than 100 minutes to escape from the facility to safety. This plot had so much scope in it to be made into an absolute thriller but all credit goes to screenplay writers Brian Watanabe and Sam Levinson for penning a script which is amateurish by any available standards.
It comes as a surprise to note that even the director of the film Fouad Mikati chose to ignore the innumerous flaws that were present in the storyline and script. The characters are so disconnected with the plot that within minutes into the film one could feel that the film is heading nowhere. To make matters worse even the sets erected for the so called underground office looks sub-standard. It is ok to make a low-budget film due to financial constraints but this movie is sure to wipe out all budget the producer had to totality as the possibility of any returns from the film would be an over-ambitious dream.
The sequences are so ill-constructed and the end purpose for all the cat fight looks so silly that one would rue the time they wasted on watching this horrible flick, which has so much gore packaged in it. The performances of the artistes can be equated to anything less than ordinary so is the performances of other technical crew members. Certain dialogues linking a character having sex with Bill Clinton, Putin and Dalai Lama could have been avoided. The film has a running time of 82 mintues.
The cast includes Zach Galifianakis, Emilie de Ravin, Maggie Q, Odette Yustman, Rob Corddry, Adam Scott, Ellen Barkin, Ving Rhames, Brandon T Jackson, Jeffrey Tambor, Joe Anderson and others.
“Operation Endgame” an amateurish film not worth watching.
