Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs Movie Review
“Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” the third installment in the Ice Age series is much more fun and excitement than its predecessors. The movie does not deviate from its values of friendship and family. The new addition in this part being the influx of deadly dinosaurs that existed 16,000 years ago in the storyline.
The movie begins with the mammoths Mannie & Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth. Sid the sloth on seeing their preparedness to welcome the new member in the family finds himself longing to raise kids on his own. Sid then comes across three dinosaur eggs and he decides to raise the baby dinosaurs in a veggie way all by himself before angry mommy dino comes and carries her kids along with Sid to underground where there is a perfect habitat for the dinosaurs.
Mannie, Ellie, Diego the saber-tooth lion along with the possum twins Eddie and Crash follow Sid in the hope of rescuing him. As the rescue team heads to the underground world, they run into all sorts of trouble and with the relentless, one-eyed dino hunter named Buck helps them to get out of trouble from the deadly dinosaurs.
Though the story-line is wafer thin the movie is a visual treat especially when the final product happens to be on 3-D format. The actual show stealer is Buck (Voice of Simon Pegg) who enthralls the audience with his sharp dialogues and swift action sequences.
The squirrel (Scratte) who is still trying to have the acorn from the 1st edition has company in this movie in the form of a female squirrel.
Though there is a debate on the accuracy of the facts on the dinosaur era, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Movie is a visual extravaganza especially in 3-D format.
