What happens when you concentrate more on your career than on your friends??? Well, that’s what this I Love You Man is all about. John Hamburg of Along came a Polly, Meet the parents and Meet the Fockers fame decide to write and direct this movie & the outcome has been made sure it captivates the viewers.

Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd) whose life revolves around his real estate work and with his girl friend Zooey (Rashida Jones). When Peter proposes to Zooey, they both decide to get married. Zooey invites all her friends to plan for the wedding and Peter at that time comes across the reality that he unfortunately doesn’t have any male friends.

Zooey and her friends worried over non-availability of Peter’s best man at the wedding makes fun of him and that makes Peter go hunting for male friends. Peter is assisted by his brother Robbie (Andy Samberg) and Zooey’s friends towards his search for his best man only to have awkward results.

Peter then in an open-house meeting meets Sydney Fife (Jason Segel) a successful low-key financial guy who then becomes friend with Peter and after a few meetings they get close to each other and he also helps Peter in his career. Zooey gets annoyed with Peter over his friendship with Sydney and that almost threatens Peter’s engagement.

Whether Peter and Zooey get married or not and at the same time what happens to the friendship between Peter and Sydney is the movie all about.

The screenplay is well drafted and at the same time credit cannot be taken away from the lead actors for their involvement in the character they have been assigned to.

I Love You Man is a lovable movie.
